How to Split A Large File Into Smaller Files

In my previous post I have mentioned how to upload files for free. For large files you need to split the file into smaller pieces and then upload them individually. Here are some of the ways to split a large file.

1.WinRar
- Using winrar you can split a large file ( even folder) into smaller pieces. Just right click on the file(/folder) and then select add to archive. Then in the winrar window at the bottom left side you have the option "split to volume, bytes". Here the main problem is that WinRar is not a free software. Below are the free ways to split a file.

2.HjSplit - hjsplit is one of the most popular file splitter/joiner being used now a days. It is available for both Windows and Linux. Download it from http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
You can download the java version that will run on any platform with JVM installed.

3.WinMend File Splitter - This is also a fast file splitter/joiner availble for windows.
